Pyramids of Güímar: Entry Ticket

About This Experience

Did you know Tenerife has its own pyramids? Although they're not as mighty as their Egyptian cousins, these manmade mountains are still a sight to behold, and equally shrouded in mystery. Now you can uncover their secrets for yourself and learn all about their history and excavation at the Ethnographic Park, the museum, and exhibition, before exploring the beautiful botanical gardens. Historians and archaeologists still cannot decide why the Pyramids of Güímar were built. Some believe that farmers piled up the stones they removed from the fields, while others think they were created by ancient civilizations that worshipped the sun and the moon. Whatever your opinion, the pyramids are an undeniably impressive sight, standing 12m tall and made with volcanic rocks from Tenerife. Their surroundings have been turned into an open-air museum where you can learn about geology, botany, and industry while strolling through the ancient complex.
