Haunted Underground: Blair Street Underground Vaults Tour

About This Experience

Explore the Blair Street Underground Vaults, a part of the city only Mercat Tours can show you. These vaults once sheltered criminals, the very poor, and people working on the edge of the law, giving them a reputation for unexplained sights and sounds. Your guide will lead you through the narrow lanes of the Old Town, then down into the vaults. Along the way, you’ll hear documented accounts of theft, violence, and harsh living conditions—no jump scares or staged effects, just real stories from Edinburgh’s past. Inside, you may notice cold spots or sudden quiet. Many visitors do. Whether you feel something unusual or not, you’ll leave with a clear picture of the lives that unfolded here and why the vaults are still talked about today.
