Visit the Alcázar of the Christian Monarchs in Córdoba, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and learn about its history with a local guide. The palatial fortress has served as a royal residence and later housed the Courts of the Holy Office, as well as civil and military prisons. Explore the Alcázar's architecture and see its mosaics, frescoes, and views from the tower and palace windows. Learn about the Christian monarchs who lived here and the history of the palace. After the guided tour, visit the historic gardens, with canals and orange trees. See the Paseo de los Reyes, a path lined with statues of kings and queens associated with the Alcázar. Due to renovations inside the Alcázar of the Christian Monarchs, some rooms are currently closed until further notice. Instead, the tour will include the historic gardens and the Christopher Columbus monolith. The experience includes a visit to the Baths of the Caliphal Alcázar, which reflect the Caliphal period.
