The Catacombs of Domitilla Rome: Entry Ticket + Guided Tour

À propos de cette expérience

Tour the Catacombs of Domitilla with a guide, and discover exactly why the catacombs are not sad, dark slums, but are instead a secret world revered by pilgrims. This was an important pilgrimage site throughout the Middle Ages, named after the Domitilla family who initially ordered them to be dug. Find out how the discoveries from the Catacombs of Domitilla have sparked controversy over the role of women in the Church, and also how they've helped scholars re-examine the importance of the Virgin Mary in early Christian history. You might also hear about a ghost or two. Early explorers vandalized the cemeteries, believing them to be cursed!
